Having grown up on a protea farm, Nicky Michell spent many hours of her childhood helping to pick and pack proteas and helping her mother create arrangements of proteas for functions. After studying Forestry Science and working for the Department of Forestry in the former Ciskei/Transkei, Nicky moved back to the family farm to help her brother, Bryan with the farm management. She started her own business, Fabulous Fynbos, about 10 years ago. What started as a venture selling protea and fynbos products, soon developed into a floral décor business where people connect and immerse themselves in beauty and creativity.
Learn about fynbos and how to use this versatile, varied and seasonal flora in creative floral pieces from Fabulous Fynbos owner Nicky Michell. She will demonstrate, help, give advice as well as floral tips for using fynbos with other flowers and greens to make stunning center pieces for any table. Each participant will create his/her own floral piece. Local fynbos, flowers and greens will be used. All products, trays and oases provided. Please bring your own secateur.
