In 2020 Gert and Jaco drove through Barrydale and, by accident, bought Die Langhuis, an 1865 heritage property. They converted it into a lifestyle shop selling gifts, antiques and art, and started Die Langhuis Café and Cottages where people can experience Karoo gourmet and old-world comfort.
